Brand Story

The concept is "travel gear"
Vasco is a Japanese brand that creates bags and leather goods based on the concept of "travel gear."
Vasco da Gama, the great navigator and explorer who pioneered new continents in the Age of Discovery.
The brand was named "VASCO" with the desire to reflect the insatiable spirit of challenge that ancient travelers pursued throughout their lives into their craftsmanship.
Vasco handles all processes from planning and sample production to mass production. They say, "There is an authentic power in things created with the same mindset that cannot be expressed in words."
The concept of "travel gear" embodies the meaning of "things that remain after being eliminated through selection," and they create heavy-duty items that do not lose their brilliance over time.
Atelier

Vasco's manufacturing takes place in Koenji, Tokyo.
In their atelier, renovated to evoke an old sailing ship or port warehouse, a select few craftsmen use handmade techniques to produce a wide variety of bags and small leather goods.
Craftmanship

Each of Vasco's craftsmen possesses reliable skills and aesthetic sense, and instead of assembly-line work, each individual handles all processes from pattern making to sewing and finishing.
Because the craftsmen are proficient in leather knowledge, sewing, and finishing, they can express nuanced and meticulous details that are difficult to describe in words.
Vasco, a continuously evolving collective of world-class professionals, believes that "Made In Japan" does not just mean "made in Japan" but rather "the spirit of the Japanese residing in the product."
