A handbag based on a vintage saddle bag

Full vegetable tanned leather from Himeji is dyed using a traditional hand-dyed method called ``Oka-zome,'' and then shading is added using Kogashi processing to create a vintage-like texture.
It has a simple design that is easy to hold regardless of age or gender.
The flap can be opened and closed with a custom-made brass twist.

A unique collection that symbolizes the brand

The ``Old Oil'' series has a vintage-like appearance using a traditional hand-dyed technique called ``Okazome''.
Full vegetable tanned leather from Himeji is tanned with tannins extracted from mimosa and chestnuts, and is carefully dyed in multiple layers using the skillful techniques of Vasco craftsmen.
The more you use it, the more the luster and texture will increase, and you can enjoy it for a long time.

adjustable gusset width

The opening is secured with a hook and can be expanded by removing it.
The large opening allows for smooth storage.
The bottom plate is also removable.

The concept is "travel tools"

Vasco is a Japanese brand that creates bags and leather accessories based on the concept of "travel tools."
Vasco da Gama was a great navigator and explorer who explored new continents during the Age of Exploration.
We named it "VASCO" with the desire to reflect in our manufacturing the insatiable spirit of challenge that ancient travelers continued to take on throughout their lives.
Vasco handles all processes from planning to sample production to mass production. ``Things that are created with the same mindset have a real power that cannot be expressed in words,'' he says.
The concept of ``travel tools'' has the meaning of ``things that continue to survive even as they are culled,'' and we create heavy-duty items that will not lose their luster over time.

Atelier

Vasco manufacturing is based in Koenji, Tokyo.
Inside the atelier, which has been renovated to look like an old sailing ship or a warehouse at a port, a small number of elite craftsmen use handmade techniques to manufacture a wide variety of bags and leather accessories.

Craftman ship

Each of Vasco's craftsmen has a solid technical sense, and rather than assembly line work, they handle the entire process from patterning to sewing and finishing by themselves.
Because we are craftsmen who are well-versed in leather knowledge, sewing, and finishing, we are able to express sensual nuances and details that are difficult to express in words.
At Vasco, which continues to evolve as a world-class professional group, we believe that Made in Japan does not mean "made in Japan," but rather "the spirit of the Japanese people resides in the product."
