vasco / Old Oil Series
[Used in the drama "Grand Maison Tokyo"]
A 2-way tote based on a vintage document case
Kip leather and cow leather from Himeji, fully vegetable-tanned, are dyed using a traditional hand-dyeing method called "oka-zome" (hill dyeing), then given a burnt finish to create shading and a vintage texture.
The zipper used is a "UNIVERSAL" zipper with a vintage feel.
Large capacity, capable of holding up to B4 size. While primarily a tote bag, the top of the body can be folded down to form a flap.
It can also be used as a shoulder bag by attaching the included shoulder strap.
old oil series

A unique collection that symbolizes the brand
The "Old Oil" series features a vintage-like appearance, achieved through a traditional hand-dyeing technique called "oka-zome."

As you use it, the luster and texture will deepen, allowing you to enjoy its aging for a long time.

Brand Story

The concept is "travel tools"
Vasco is a Japanese brand that creates bags and leather goods based on the concept of "travel tools."
Vasco da Gama was a great navigator and explorer who pioneered new continents during the Age of Discovery.
The name "VASCO" was given with the desire to reflect the relentless spirit of challenge that ancient travelers pursued throughout their lives in their craftsmanship.
Vasco handles all processes from planning and sample production to mass production in-house. They say, "There is an inexpressible authentic power in things created with the same mindset."
The concept of "travel tools" embodies the meaning of "things that remain after being eliminated," creating heavy-duty items that never lose their brilliance over time.
Atelier

Vasco's manufacturing takes place in Kōenji, Tokyo.
Inside their atelier, renovated to evoke an old sailing ship or port warehouse, a small team of skilled craftsmen use handmade techniques to produce a wide variety of bags and leather goods.
Craftman ship

Each Vasco craftsman possesses solid skills and sensibility. Rather than assembly-line work, each individual handles all processes from pattern making to sewing and finishing.
Because they are craftsmen deeply knowledgeable in leather, sewing, and finishing, they can express nuanced and intricate details that are difficult to articulate in words.
Vasco, as a professional group proud of their global standards and continuously evolving, believes that "Made in Japan" is not just "made in Japan," but rather "the Japanese spirit dwelling in the product."
