Brand Story

Concept: "Travel Tools"
Vasco is a Japanese brand that creates bags and leather accessories under the concept of "travel tools."
During the Age of Discovery, Vasco da Gama was a great navigator and explorer who pioneered new continents.
We named our brand "VASCO" with the desire to reflect the unyielding spirit of challenge that ancient travelers pursued throughout their lives into our craftsmanship.
Vasco handles all processes from planning and sample production to mass production. They say, "There is a genuine power that words cannot express in things created with the same mindset."
The concept of "travel tools" embodies the meaning of "things that remain after being sifted out," and they create heavy-duty items that do not lose their luster over time.
Atelier

Vasco's manufacturing takes place in Koenji, Tokyo.
In their atelier, renovated to evoke an old sailing ship or port warehouse, a small but elite team of craftsmen uses handmade techniques to produce a wide variety of bags and leather accessories.
Craftmanship

Each vasco craftsman possesses solid skills and sensibility, and rather than working on an assembly line, each person handles all processes from pattern making to sewing and finishing.
Because the craftsmen are well-versed in leather knowledge, sewing, and finishing, they can express even subtle nuances and particular details that are difficult to put into words.
Vasco, a group of world-class professionals who continue to evolve, believes that "Made In Japan" is not about "being made in Japan," but about "the Japanese spirit residing in the product."
