Italian-made horsebutt leather (full vegetable-tanned) from GUIDI.
Despite its simple design, the rich texture of the leather gives it character.

HORSE BUTT

Horsebutt refers to rare horse rump leather with a high fiber density.
The leather used in this INCEPTION series is Italian horsebutt that captivated the artisan. It's full vegetable-tanned leather from GUIDI, a long-established Italian tannery in Tuscany founded in 1896. The surface treatment is meticulous, giving it a premium feel that belies its thickness. Over years of use, it develops the delicate sheen unique to horsebutt. It has a moist feel and a finish that retains its thickness. The entire interior is also made of this carefully selected leather.

"Teak Core" Creates a Unique and Flavorful Contrast

As the item is used, the pigment on the surface gradually wears off due to friction, revealing the underlying base layer. Since the base layer is dyed mocha all the way to the core, it develops a uniquely understated appearance.
This condition is known as "teak core" (chashin) and is favored by many vintage enthusiasts.
The edges of this series are finished to allow you to enjoy this contrast.

The entire interior is also made of carefully selected leather.
