Chromexcel

Horween, known for producing the finest cordovan (shell cordovan), is a traditional and globally renowned American tannery with over 100 years of history.
Chromexcel leather is one of their flagship products, highly trusted by boot manufacturers worldwide.
Chromexcel is cowhide made using a method developed approximately 100 years ago. Carefully selected North American hides are vegetable-tanned, then thoroughly infused with a special blend of four or more oils, including beef tallow, beeswax, vegetable oil, and fish oil.
Because it's deeply permeated with abundant natural oils, it's thick yet supple, offering a unique soft texture and high durability.

Unique variations in shade and the charm of brown core leather

For the finish, the natural tanned base is dyed with an aniline hand-finish using a unique recipe.
When bent or pulled, vibrant colors emerge from beneath the deep surface color.
The black color, with use, gradually reveals the brown underneath, allowing you to enjoy the charm of "brown core black."
Other colors also develop beautiful unevenness with varying shades due to the pull-up effect (oil moving within the leather), transforming into a deeper, richer appearance with prolonged use.
