Recreating the coal bags used by American miners

A "coal bag" was originally a bag with handles on both sides for carrying coal.
Because it was used to carry heavy loads, this shape was also used as a tool bag outside of mining.
We have recreated existing vintage coal bags, paying close attention to details such as rivets.
The material is the same base as our standard horsehide, but it undergoes drum processing (softening), dyeing, ironing (polishing), and then drum processing again (loosening the fibers), resulting in a richly textured leather created through more steps than usual.

HORSE HIDE

In the Horsehide Collection, the natural expression visible within the beautiful luster brings to mind the image of horses galloping across vast lands.
The clever aging mechanism is also cool and enjoyable. It is an exquisite piece where you can feel the magnificent flow of time and vitality.

Horsehide leather refers to leather made from the torso of an adult horse.
Originally, we use carefully selected raw hides for clothing applications such as flight jackets, chosen for their fabric content and size.
Light softening in the final stage creates an indescribably pleasant feel and softness.

A truly tasteful contrast created by "Chajin" (brown core)

As it is used, the pigment on the surface gradually peels off due to friction, revealing the underlying base. Since the base is dyed mocha brown all the way to the core, it creates a truly subdued look.
This condition is called "chajin" and is popular among many vintage enthusiasts.

After much trial and error, we adopted rivet sizes used for jeans.
They serve as an effective accent.

Material features	・Horsehide uses European raw hides and is vegetable-tanned to complete the base material. Originally, we use carefully selected raw hides for clothing applications such as flight jackets, chosen for their fabric content and size. During dyeing, not only the surface but also the core is dyed mocha brown, and the surface is finished with pigment in the final stage. The entire leather is finished with a stable color and luster, and light softening in the final process creates an indescribably pleasant feel and softness. Lightness is also a feature.
Material note	May include horse-specific blood vessels, slight scratches, wrinkles from running around, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand this due to the nature of leather.
