INCEPTION / Horsehide

A replica of the coal bag used by American coal miners

A "coal bag" is a bag with handles on both sides that was originally used to carry coal.
Because it is used to carry heavy loads, it is also used as a tool bag outside of coal mines.
This bag is based on an existing vintage cord bag and has been reproduced with attention to detail, including the rivets.
The material is the same base as the standard horsehide, but it goes through more processes than usual, including beating (kneading) → dyeing → ironing (polishing) → beating again (loosening the fibers), to create a leather with a rich expression.

HORSE HIDE

The horsehide collection features a natural look that emerges from its beautiful luster, evoking the image of a horse galloping across a vast landscape.
The clever aging process is both cool and fun. It's a masterpiece that lets you feel the breath and flow of time.

Horsehide leather refers to leather made from the torso of an adult horse.
Originally, we use a base material with carefully selected fabric content and size for clothing such as flight jackets.
By lightly kneading the leather in the final process, it has an indescribable soft feel and texture.

The tasteful contrast created by the "brown core"

As the bag is used, the surface pigment gradually peels off due to rubbing, revealing the base color inside. Because the base color is dyed mocha all the way through, it has a very rugged appearance.
This condition is called "brown core" and is familiar to many vintage enthusiasts.
