Based on the U.S. MAIL postman's mailbag manufactured from the early 1900s to the 1960s.
The piping reveals a deep mocha color dyed into the base leather. The glossy finish gives it an elegant look, making it suitable for both casual and dressy outfits. It's also lightweight, making it a shoulder bag that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders.
HORSE HIDE
In the horsehide collection, the natural texture visible through the beautiful luster evokes the image of horses running across vast plains. The ingenious aging mechanism is also incredibly cool and enjoyable. It is a masterpiece that allows you to feel the magnificent flow of time and vitality.
Horsehide leather refers to leather made from the body of a mature horse. We use carefully selected bases in terms of fabric content and size, originally intended for clothing applications such as flight jackets. A light揉み (momi) process in the final stage creates an indescribably pleasant texture and softness.
"Chashin" (brown core) creates an exquisitely tasteful contrast.
As the item is used, the pigment on the surface gradually peels off due to friction, revealing the underlying base. Since the base is dyed mocha all the way to the core, it takes on an exquisitely deep character. This condition is called "chashin" and is cherished by many vintage enthusiasts.

| Material features | ・Horsehide uses raw European hides and is vegetable-tanned to create the base leather. Originally, base leather carefully selected for fabric content and size for clothing applications such as flight jackets is used. During dyeing, not only the surface but also the core is dyed mocha, and the final finish is a pigment finish on the surface. The leather is finished to have a stable color and glossy texture throughout, and a light揉み (momi) process in the final stage creates an indescribably pleasant texture and softness. Lightness is also a characteristic. ・Horse butt is rare leather from the horse's buttocks with high fiber density. In the bag series, it is placed at the joint parts of the belt, etc. Here, base leather that could not be completed as cordovan is used to create a unique texture and natural wrinkles on the surface that are unique to horse leather and not found in cowhide. Similarly, thick horse butt is selected from European raw hides as much as possible and vegetable-tanned. The dyeing is intentionally left as a dye-only finish, making it a leather where the natural aging of horse nubuck can be enjoyed with use. |
