Horsehide leather refers to leather made from the torso of adult horses.
Originally, a carefully selected base leather, chosen for its texture and size for clothing applications such as flight jackets, is used.
A light揉み processing in the final stage creates an indescribable texture and softness.
The charming contrast created by "Chashin" (brown core)
As the item is used, the surface pigment gradually wears off due to friction, revealing the underlying base. Since the base is dyed mocha all the way to the core, it develops a uniquely subdued appearance.
This state is known as "Chashin" and is favored by many vintage enthusiasts.
※Brown expresses a deep color and texture by being dyed twice with dye. Both colors allow you to enjoy the "Chashin" effect.

Originally, a carefully selected base leather, chosen for its texture and size for clothing applications such as flight jackets, is used. During dyeing, not only the surface but also the core is dyed mocha, and the surface is pigment-finished in the final stage. The leather is finished with a stable color and lustrous texture throughout, and a light揉み processing in the final stage creates an indescribable texture and softness. Lightness is also a characteristic. ・Horsebutt is a rare horse hindquarter leather with a high fiber density. In our bag series, it is used for belt joint parts and similar areas. Here, we use a base leather that could not be completed as cordovan, finishing it to bring out the unique texture and natural wrinkles of horse leather, which cowhide does not possess. Similarly, we select the thickest possible horse butt from European raw hides and vegetable-tan it. The dyeing is deliberately left as a dye-only finish, allowing the leather to develop the unique aging of natural horse leather as it is used. |
