Natural tanned leather is "raw leather" that has been tanned using tannin, a component found in plant tannins, and finished without any surface treatment.
It has the most leather-like feel of all the materials, and is therefore also known as the "leather of leathers."
The process of soaking leather in tannins is extremely time-consuming and costly, making it impossible to mass-produce, so tanned leather products are highly prized.

A particularly rare "horse" off-white leather bag

In fact, it is very difficult to select leather with minimal scratches at the raw leather stage and to tan such thick tanned leather.
Furthermore, when it is made into a bag, it is often dyed to hide any original scratches, so it is extremely rare to be able to offer a bag made of such off-white material. This series is carefully tanned by a tanner in Himeji with the eye and skill to do so.

Since the leather has no surface treatment, if you look closely you can see the scars and blood vessels of the original animal, giving it a very natural finish.
It doesn't contain any oil, so it's not sticky and feels smooth. Because it's made from horses raised in Europe or North America in conditions similar to pasture, you can really feel the texture. While the leather itself is strong, the surface is untreated, so it's prone to scratches and is vulnerable to water.
We recommend using it carefully until the surface is coated to a certain extent.
