Raw Nume leather is a "raw leather" that is tanned using tannins, a component also found in plant astringents, and finished without surface processing.
It is also called "leather of leathers" because it has the most leather-like appearance among countless materials.
The process of soaking in tannin requires a great deal of time, effort, and cost, making mass production impossible, so Nume leather products have a rare value.

In fact, it is very difficult to select raw leather with few scratches or to tan thick Nume leather like this.
Furthermore, when making bags, products are often dyed to hide original scratches, so it is extremely rare to be able to offer bags made from such raw materials. This series is carefully tanned by a tanner in Himeji with such discerning eyes and technical skills.

Aging

Exposure to sunlight and absorption of hand oils will gradually change its color from skin tone to camel, and then to a glossy amber color over time.

Natural individuality where scratches become character

Since it is leather without surface processing, a closer look reveals a very natural finish with original animal scars and blood vessel marks.
Since no oil is added, it can be held smoothly without stickiness. Horses raised in conditions close to free-range in Europe and North America give it an even greater texture. While the leather itself is durable, its unprocessed surface makes it prone to scratches and vulnerable to water.
It is recommended to use it carefully until the surface is somewhat coated.
