Yoshida Bag Porter / Bill Bridle
Material
The white bloom melts,
You can enjoy watching it grow over time
PORTER BILL BRIDLE is a high-class leather accessory series made using bridle leather from a long-established British leather tannery with over 170 years of history.
Bridle leather, one of the three major leathers in the world, is famous for being used for horse saddles and other items.
We use thick, durable cowhide leather (leather from cows over 2 years old) that has been tanned with tannins, and then apply waxes such as beeswax in the final stage to tighten the leather fibers, making it even stronger and more durable.
It is known as a high-quality leather because it requires a lot of effort compared to general leather. The main material is bridle leather from "THOMAS WARE & SONS", which was founded in Bristol, England in 1840.
The raw leather is sourced from within the UK, and after tanning, craftsmen hand-paint each piece with wax over a period of 10 weeks.
The white powder that appears on the surface of the leather is called Bloom and is a wax component such as beeswax and vegetable oil.
The charm of this product is that with use, the oils and wax in the leather gradually increase the gloss and the color deepens, allowing you to enjoy the changes that occur over time.
Bridle leather is used even for the interior
For this series, thick, heavy bridle leather is thinned to make it lighter, and is used in key areas of the interior, resulting in a luxurious finish.
The cut edges, which give a sense of artisanal skill, have been carefully polished, giving the watch a sharp and clean impression despite its basic design.
